Sanaz Javadi Farahzadi has 19 years of experience in international business, law, international affairs, and women empowerment. As a senior adviser, speaker, and mentor, she has worked with diverse stakeholders worldwide including UN agencies and civil society groups. Passionate about advancing innovation, social entrepreneurship, and social justice, Sanaz is also VP of the Partnership Organization of Women in International Trade, impacting women’s economic empowerment globally. Her work, often set against the challenges of being an Iranian woman in Switzerland, highlights her dedication to creating networks that foster learning and growth among women and men worldwide.

SANAZ ON OVERCOMING CULTURAL AND PROFESSIONAL BARRIERS
Sanaz faced significant challenges in her career due to her Iranian background while working in Switzerland. She often felt isolated and unsupported by the international community. To tackle these obstacles, Sanaz built an effective network, allowing her to establish collaborations and gain recognition. Her perseverance and dedication led her to secure a position with the Swiss government, marking a significant milestone in her career. This experience taught her the importance of resilience, networking, and building supportive communities to overcome cultural and professional barriers.
SANAZ ON MENTORSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT
Sanaz is deeply committed to mentoring and empowering the next generation of leaders. Through her role as a mentor with the United Nations and the Graduate Institute Geneva, she has guided numerous women and youth, especially those from developing and least developed countries, to achieve international positions. Sanaz believes in fostering inclusivity and diversity by providing support and resources to individuals from all backgrounds. By promoting empathy, understanding, and respect for differences, she aims to contribute to the development of leaders who are inclusive, compassionate, and capable of leading in a globalized world.
BEING IRANIAN AND FACING CHALLENGES IN BOTH IRAN AND SWITZERLAND HAS MADE ME MORE DETERMINED TO PAVE THE WAY FOR OTHERS AND HELP THEM OVERCOME THEIR ISSUES. MENTORING OVER 140 WOMEN AND MEN IN DIFFERENT REGIONS HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT PART OF MY JOURNEY.
