Monika maintains her work-life balance through a focus on positivity, integration of work and life, and finding joy in her work. She believes in the concept of work-life integration and finds energy and motivation from the impact of her DEI and coaching work. For her mental health, Monika engages in activities like music, dance, sports, and spending quality time with family and friends. She also loves traveling, networking, and exploring different cultures and cuisines, which bring her happiness and fulfillment.
MONIKA ON OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
As an Asian Millennial female graduate student requiring visa sponsorship in the USA, Monika faced numerous challenges. Through her work in DEI, she became aware and accepted that systemic barriers and obstacles would always be present. Her resilience, persistence, and belief in herself, along with the support from mentors, allies, friends, and family, helped her overcome these challenges. Monika’s never-give-up attitude and her proactive approach to networking and seeking opportunities highlight her determination and ability to turn adversity into success.
I CAN NEVER SETTLE ON LAURELS AND I MUST CONFESS THAT I LOVE WORKING. I ALWAYS FEEL THAT THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THAT WE COULD DO, AND WE SHOULD ALL CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR MEANINGFUL WORK.
