MARJET AS A LEADER

When I think of a leader, I think of energy, passion, strategy, and trust.
YOU DON'T NEED TO BE THE SMARTEST OF THE GROUP. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE RUNNING YOUR PASSION EACH AND EVERY DAY.

MARJET ON BALANCING WORK AND FAMILY AS A SINGLE PARENT
Navigating the challenges of being a single parent with a demanding career has taught me the importance of flexibility, support systems, and prioritizing. By taking my daughter to the office and showing her my work, I set an example of balancing professional and personal life. It's crucial to have reliable support at home, such as a fantastic babysitter, and to take time off to enjoy life with friends and family. And at the same time always be ready to support the business when you need to be there, for the team, for the company, in order to win together. Timing is everything.
MARJET ON OVERCOMING GENDER BARRIERS IN A MALE-DOMINATED INDUSTRY
Working in the IT industry, where leadership is still very male-dominated, has been challenging. I've tackled these challenges by setting clear goals, seeking support from sponsors, and standing firm on my boundaries. It's important to push through obstacles and use them as opportunities to grow. Leading the Business Women Network at SAP and the Female Leadership Development team at Workday has been part of my effort to support and inspire other women in tech, but also be an example for girls in the future.
MY DAUGHTER, FLEUR, INSPIRES ME EVERY DAY TO BE A ROLE MODEL FOR WHAT WOMEN CAN ACHIEVE. AS A SINGLE MOTHER, I’VE LEARNED TO BALANCE, PRIORITIZE, AND GROW IN WAYS I NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE. COMBINING FLEXIBILITY WITH DETERMINATION, I STRIVE TO BE AN EXAMPLE OF STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE.
