KATIA AS A LEADER

Katia defines success as excelling at doing what she loves. Her strong will, courage, and vision are backed by mentors and her teams.

Leadership is not being bossy.

Great Leaders inspire others to go beyond.

The future of leadership is diverse.

When I think of a leader, I think of strong people taking difficult decisions.

DON’T WAIT FOR SOMEBODY TO GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY TO DO THE THINGS YOU WANT TO—JUST ACT AS IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT.

KATIA ON BALANCING WORK AND LIFE

Katia finds grounding and balance through her family, which includes three kids and a dog. She believes in the importance of spending time in nature and practicing meditation to manage stress. Her positivity and love for her work make it feel less like a job and more like a fulfilling endeavor.

KATIA ON OVERCOMING GENDER BARRIERS

In the male-dominated media industry, Katia was the only female editor-in-chief leading a team of over 20 male journalists. She faced skepticism and was often not taken seriously. Instead of adopting an aggressive leadership style, she invested in coaching to develop her own kind and empathetic approach. This not only led to her success but also contributed to a lasting change in newsroom culture through her initiative, EqualVoice, which promotes gender equality in media representation.
