Leadership is not about power.
Great Leaders listen and work horizontally.

JESSICA ON ADVOCATING FOR NATURE
Jessica has dedicated her career to advocating for the recognition of the Rights of Nature in the Netherlands. Inspired by her love for nature and a sense of justice, she has made significant strides in bringing this concept to the forefront of political discourse. "I am successful if I can inspire people to view nature differently and if they take action," she says. Jessica's efforts have led to two municipalities drafting law proposals based on her work, and her book "Rechten voor de Natuur" has garnered attention and support for the movement. Despite challenges such as not being taken seriously due to her age and gender, she remains focused on her mission, believing that her work can plant seeds for future generations to continue the fight for environmental justice.
JESSICA ON TURNING ANXIETY INTO ACTION
Jessica openly acknowledges her struggles with eco-anxiety, a condition stemming from concerns about environmental degradation and climate change. Instead of succumbing to these negative feelings, she channels them into her work and personal life. "I try to transform those feelings into action through my work and I spend my weekends in forests," she explains. This proactive approach not only helps her manage her anxiety but also fuels her passion for environmental advocacy. By transforming anxiety into action, Jessica demonstrates resilience and determination, showing how personal challenges can be turned into powerful motivators for positive change.
