In her career, Almudena encountered a pivotal moment while serving as a mid-manager. After her boss resigned, she was left to navigate challenging office politics and inherited a difficult relationship with the head of the department, who held a misogynistic viewpoint and publicly expressed doubts about her career potential. With the loss of her sponsor in the organization, Almudena found herself in a precarious position. Undeterred by this adversity, she stood by her ethical principles and demonstrated courage by deciding to resign without another job offer, taking a significant risk for her career. She embraced this uncertainty as an opportunity to grow and develop herself further as a leader, taking with her the lesson of "what kind of boss she was never going to be." This bold move soon led to her being offered the largest role of her career, managing an international team and a significant budget. Almudena's experience exemplifies her commitment to overcoming obstacles and driving positive change within organizations.
